DIY Solar Power Weekend
Nottingham Hackspace will be holding a weekend of DIY Solar Power, run by Hackspace member Dr. Matt Little of RE-Innovation.
On Saturday, 4th August, you can Build Your Own Solar Power System. At this day-long workshop, you can build a system including a 10Wp solar panel, charge regulator, voltmeter and enclosure – great for charging up batteries, phones and more.
The workshop will cover solar power technology, load assessment, resource assessment, system design, and batteries and controllers – and you won’t need previous experience with solar power or electronics!
This course will cost £60 for the full kit and instruction, and £10 if you bring your own components and just need instruction.
On Sunday, 5th August, you can Build Your Own Solar PV Panel. At this practical workshop, you will learn to cut solar PV cells, soldering, wiring and encasing for a long lifetime, building a 12v solar panel with an output of approximately 5Wp.
This course will cost £40 for the full kit and instruction, and £10 if you bring your own components and just need instruction.
Numbers are limited for both workshops, so please book your place now!
If you have any questions, please contact Matt or find him at one of our Open Hack Nights.
